Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Introduction
This statement sets out The Baby Clinic trading as Chequers Health Group (hereafter referred to as: TBC t/a CHG) actions to understand all potential Modern Slavery risks related to its business and to put in place steps that are aimed at ensuring that there is no Slavery or Human Trafficking in its own business and its supply chains. This statement relates to actions and activities during the financial year 2023-2024.
As part of TBC t/a CHG commitment, it recognises that it has a responsibility to take a robust approach against Slavery and Human Trafficking.
TBC t/a CHG is absolutely committed to preventing Slavery and Human Trafficking in all its activities, and to ensuring that its supply chains are free from Slavery and Human Trafficking.
Scope
This statement covers the activities of TBC t/a CHG with reference to its CQC Regulated Activities and Services namely:
Diagnostic and Screening Procedures
Family Planning
Maternity and Midwifery Services
Surgical Procedures
Treatment of Disease, Disorder, and Injury
Approach
We will mitigate the risks around Slavery and Human Trafficking through the following activities:
Ensure our policies are clear about our approach to Slavery and Human Trafficking and that they are regularly reviewed
Our Safeguarding training will enable our staff to better understand and respond to Slavery and Human Trafficking risks
Any allegations or suspected instances of Slavery and Human Trafficking will be investigated with urgency as set out in the policy

The organisation operates the following policies that describe its approach to the prevention and identification of Modern Slavery and Human trafficking:
Recruitment/Agency workers – Chequers uses only specified, reputable employment agencies to source staff and always verifies the practices of any new agency before contracting.
Employee Code of Conduct – TBC t/a CHG Code of Conduct sets out the behaviours and standards of our employees and this extends to the discharge of duties around safeguarding
Whistleblowing policy – TBC t/a CHG encourages all its workers, customers, and business partners to report any concerns related to the direct activities which includes any circumstances that may give rise to a risk of slavery or human trafficking. We encourage all stakeholders to make disclosures without fear of retaliation.
